6-Minute-Diary: Your Experiences

Every day we receive countless messages of gratitude from diary writers* who show how the theory of the 6-Minute-Diary transforms into real change: from black ink on paper, a colourful firework of positive feelings and progress emerges.

Many have been using the diary for over two years now, and it has shown: the longer the diary is used, the more colourful the firework becomes – the effects of daily writing seem to multiply over time [1] [1] 6-Minute® Blog: Habits – the compound interest of our personal development . We no longer want to keep all this to ourselves and proudly present you the most beautiful examples from everyday life.

Self-reflection

How well do you know yourself? Can you understand and explain your thoughts and behaviour? Do you know what is important to you in life and where you want to go? Tricky questions like these are much easier to answer when you can reflect on yourself and look at yourself objectively. The rule is: the more you question yourself, the easier the answers come. “WAYWAY” describes how the diary encourages you to reflect on yourself:

Diary review: Self-reflection

It feels good to know who you are. If you have forgotten, self-reflection can help you find your way back to yourself:

Diary review: Finding your way back
Once you have unlocked the lock to yourself, more and more doors and opportunities open up to enrich your life in your favour, just as with “Jannik”:
Diary review: Self-reflection

Gratitude

Gratitude has the power to change your entire view of the world. “Boyyana” describes this change of perspective particularly beautifully:

Diary review: Gratitude

But it doesn't help to wait for a miracle. Gratitude arises precisely when it's also practised [2] [2] 6-Minute®  Blog: How gratitude changes your brain . This is exactly how “Stern” puts it:

Diary review: Don't wait for miracles

The result of feeling gratitude every day: Eventually, it becomes self-sustaining and turns into an automatic habit. It produces more and more positive experiences all on its own, just as “Iris” wrote to us via email:

It brings me so much joy that I always look forward to writing. I now have so many moments of happiness and gratitude that I often can't believe it.

Good Habits

The ability to build good habits and get rid of bad ones is perhaps the most important building block for a happy and healthy life [3] [3] 6-Minute® Blog: The underestimated power of habits . So why not fill the day with conscious routines that make you feel good and move you forward?

For those who find it difficult to put this into practice, the 6-Minute-Diary provides good guidance, as "Jonas" describes it:

Diary review: Good habits

How this can look concretely in the morning is described by “Nivroc”:

Diary review: Morning routine

But it is also worth its weight in gold in the evening to replace bad routines with good habits. For example, if you are glued to your smartphone until your eyes close, you are doing yourself no good [4] [4] Spiegel Online: Sleep disorders and mobile phones . “Corinna” describes how the diary helps her sleep:

Diary review: Sleep betterOnce the routine is established, this positive momentum can make it easier to establish further habits, such as with “Jannik”:Diary review: Progress

Mental health

The mindfulness trend sounds to some like a pie-in-the-sky strategy that only works for those who are already doing well. But even those who suffer from depression and anxiety disorders can find mindfulness and gratitude to be effective tools [5] [5] 6-Minute® Blog: Mindfulness against depression . “Janine” describes how the diary was able to support her during her illness:

Diary review: Help with depression

The diary has also proven itself within the framework of psychotherapy, as “Viktoria” describes in a message to us, for example:

I happened to come across an article about gratitude diaries back then and started it at the end of my therapy. My therapist was also excited about the idea and left me to my own devices with a clear conscience. She and I have both not regretted it so far ;-) Hardly anything throws me off track anymore and I am simply happier and more confident.

Personal development

Contrary to the long-held opinion, we can continue to develop throughout our lives - we are so to speak never “finished” [6] [6] Zeit Online: Personality development is never finished . We can use this potential for change every day – and preferably in a positive direction! How quickly this can happen is described by “Gudrun” to us:

When I look back, I marvel at everything that has happened in such a short time and how important things have turned into unimportant things and vice versa! It is a joy to look back and follow my development.

Can you see happiness? We think so! Inner development is not hidden from others either, as seen below with “Dimitri”:

I can hardly believe it myself, but I am of the opinion that the diary has already changed my life for the better after just a few days. I can tell by the fact that people in my environment have already told me that I suddenly come across as so different, happier.

“Monika” also drew some benefit from the introduction, as she wrote to us via email:

Thanks to the very educational and exciting theoretical part, it was very easy for me to put what I had learned into practice immediately. Living gratefully every day and being more mindful of my thoughts and actions has already noticeably improved my quality of life after just a few days.

What makes this development? Both the theoretical and practical parts of the diary seem to contribute their part, writes “Chgrigat”:

Diary review: Resilience

Developments are very different. Some start in the positive range and then add another scoop, as with “Lucia”

I am a very positive and grateful person by nature, this book goes even deeper, so that I can deal with the topic even more and more intensively.

But your personal development can also start at a low point and completely turn you around for the better, as “Lydia” beautifully describes in a personal message to us:

As a person who had not dared to do much in their life so far, who was constantly plagued by self-doubt, who always put themselves last, never stood up for their own opinion and thought that only what other people claimed was correct, a personality has developed that finally looks after its own needs, critically questions things, trusts and gives expression to its own feelings and in doing so lets in an infinite amount of positive things into life.

What more can we say? Only one more thing: We thank all diary writers* for your heartwarming, humorous and wise words and that you use our self-help aid so diversely and creatively. The 6-Minute-Diary is only the framework – you paint the picture with your life.

 Gratitude frame

Vielen lieben Dank!

Eure Maya :-))
